Perungudi Dumpyard to get cleanup boost as Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) resolves contractor dispute
The Greater Chennai Corporation is set to resume biomining at the Perungudi dumpyard after resolving an arbitration with WeStart Communication, a contractor who underperformed since 2021. While Zigma Environ completed their portion, WeStart has committed to processing the remaining eight lakh tonnes of waste by August. Once completed, the biomined area will be used for bioCNG plants and composting centers.
